Mike LaJoice designed and fabricated 100 fish in recognition of the Allegan District Library's impact on the community.
The grand entrance of the library includes an art installation, “The Copper Shoal,” consisting of 100 copper fish designed and fabricated by local artist Mike LaJoice. LaJoice’s work is in recognition of Allegan District Library’s significance to the community. Each different size of fish honors donors starting at three levels: $500, $2,000, and $5,000.
This artwork will remain on the grand entrance staircase wall for the life of the building, allowing Allegan District Library patrons to recognize those who support the library.
