Minutes-Board of Trustees

April 15, 2008

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees was held on April 15, 2008. President Shawn Gavan called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Present were Director Ann Perrigo, Trustees Shawn Gavan, Billi Williams, Hollis Hough, Nancy Ingalsbee, Ed Kowalski, and Susan Jerkatis.

Bob Boardman, from Library Design Associates, was introduced.

Minutes from the March Board meeting were approved upon a motion made by Trustee Kowalski and seconded by Trustee Hough.

The agenda was reordered to accommodate Mr. Boardman’s visit to discuss progress on the workroom. He discussed that the floor is made of 90% recycled tires, which will be put over the asbestos floor. Asbestos abatement is not a concern. The room has to be vacant to do the work. City will be consulted about the furniture and fixtures that will no longer be needed.

A motion by Trustee Ingalsbee, seconded by Jerkatis, was passed to approve a budget for the workroom remodeling not to exceed $25,000. This will go to the City Council on April 28.

The financial reports were reviewed, and upon a motion made by Trustee Ingalsbee, seconded by Trustee Kowalski, the bills presented by Director Perrigo were approved for payment. The financial and statistical reports were also given at this time.
